On March 6, several of our grade 9 girls attended the “Inspiring Future Women in Science Conference” at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Waterloo.
They got a chance to experience the excitement of Perimeter’s cutting-edge research first-hand. This half-day event exposed them to the rewards, challenges and possibilities of a career in science.
Female panellists from a variety of industries in scientific fields discussed their decision to pursue a career in science, the challenges they have faced, and the rewards of their chosen careers.
The photo below shows our girls among many others at the mentoring sessions after the keynotes and panel discussion.
