Dear parents, alumni and friends of the Abelard School,
Our very special 20th Anniversary Fundraising Dinner is coming up!
Once again it will be held at the beautiful University of Toronto Faculty Club on Friday, December 2nd. We hope you will all come, and we encourage you to invite your family, your friends, and your colleagues. You can purchase your tickets through the school ($150 adult tickets, $120 alumni tickets). Please, do so soon to allow us to organize this wonderful event properly! As most of you know, the dinner is the highlight of the Abelard social calendar and a wonderful opportunity to see some spectacular student performances as well as to meet and make friends in the Abelard community. We’ll have a silent auction and a lot of door prizes and we are really looking forward to seeing you there!
As you all know, The Abelard School is a registered charitable organization which provides approximately $200,000 per year in scholarships to gifted and well-deserving students who otherwise would be unable to attend a private school like Abelard. All of the proceeds from the dinner will benefit the school’s scholarship fund and our goal for this year is to raise at least $20,000 from this event.
In addition to being important to the school as a fundraiser, the annual dinner is also a unique opportunity for us to come together as a community in a social setting. Also, by inviting people who are not already part of the school you can help us to promote the school in an informal way. So we ask you to invite friends, colleagues, and acquaintances as well as siblings, grandparents, etc.
Please note: this year we are introducing a special rate of $1,200 per table of ten (10 adults tickets). Remember that businesses also receive charitable donation tax deductions, so if your business would like to sponsor a corporate table for your family, friends, and business associates, the receipt will be issued to the business.
Please also feel free to add an additional donation to your ticket price. You will be given a charitable tax receipt for $70 on the price of the dinner ticket. Any amount donated above the ticket price is fully receiptable.
If you are unable to attend, please contribute to the scholarship fund nonetheless!
