For our annual school play, Hamlet, the production ended up being a virtual one due to COVID, so the Drama class had to adapt certain theatrical elements for the Zoom stage. Shakespeare of course includes a play within his play – the infamous Mousetrap, with which Hamlet plans to catch the conscience of the king. Three Drama students, taking all necessary precautions, filmed, acted in and edited a version of The Mousetrap with an anachronistic twist. The short film was then shown during the Zoom performance of the play.
